North Westward Hot Cocoa

North Westward Hot Cocoa

There's nothing like a cup of hot cocoa to warm you from the inside out on a brisk winter day. You can easily substitute your favorite cocoa mix for the unsweetened cocoa, just omit the sugar.

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 to 2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup milk or any combination of milk, half-and-half, or cream
5 dashes of The Bitter Housewife Westward Hazelnut bitters

Whisk together the cocoa, sugar, and about 2 tablespoons milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until cocoa and sugar are dissolved. Whisk in the rest of the milk and heat it over medium heat, whisking occasionally, until it is hot. Add The Bitter Housewife Westward Hazelnut bitters enjoy in your favorite mug.

**Need a little extra kick to keep away the cold, add a shot of bourbon to warm you to the bone.
