I love this fall/winter riff on a Manhattan that makes good use of fresh pressed apple cider. A pitcher of these would go quite fast at any gathering.
1 1/2 oz whiskey
1 oz apple cider
1/2 oz sweet vermouth
5 dashes The Bitter Housewife Westward Hazelnut Bitters
Apple slice or cinnamon stick to garnish
Add all ingredients except the garnish to a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir till well chilled. Strain into a coup or cocktail glass and garnish with a slice of apple or cinnamon stick.
